Chair Design

2021

Miami University

For this project, I deconstructed an existing chair and reimagined it by reconstructing its original components into a new, visually engaging form. Using the original pieces, along with new metal connectors, I highlighted the negative spaces between the elements, emphasizing both the absence and presence of form. The metal accents subtly draw attention to the interplay between the chair's original structure and its new composition. This reconstruction preserves the chair's original materials while offering a fresh take on its form, creating a balance between its fragmented parts and the new cohesive structure.
